Many of you follow along my journey as I reveal to you how things can be incredibly difficult for me as well. From time to time Im very hard on myself, beat myself up for where Im at, and wish I were like this person or that body or as successful as this business. As I try to explain this to people when Im lashing out, I justify that I was once an insecure person…remind them, and blame it on an old me thats surfacing. I blame them on triggering me and saying the wrong things, being hard on me, or not being supportive. And I cry too about how tough it might seem at the time or unfair. I start to look at the next workshop I might need, new personal trainer to possibly help me feel more accountable myself, or another book to bury my head in and feel better.
Trust me- those things work, and why they work, is that they help you see this: “Youve got all the tools you need within you and you dont need to change anything about your true self after all”. What these tools (challenge groups, empowering books, positive friends, blogs, coaches, trainers, etc) help you do is un cover the true you- powerful beyond measure, full of love for yourself and others, and pretty much perfect the way you are. We create the illusions that we need this or that to be happy, when if we focused on who we ALREADY are…then were more likely to have the shell of fat gained from junk food subside, as well as the bad relationships, as well as a miserable job. We dont need to change to be fantastic, we must realize joy, happiness, fabulousness, beauty, strength, intelligence is actually our birth right. We were born amazing, and we’ve got to continue to, year after year, tearing down the obstacles that have confused us to think otherwise.
I ask you to look at everything you’ve ever wanted to be, and realize that’s because its actually who you already are…its deep inside. Does it take the pressure off to realize you dont need to change who you are but merely work on whats been getting in the way? It sure has for me. What helped me make a small shift in my perception? Listening to the audio “A Return To Love” by Marianne Williamson, as well as the many similar messages from Gabby Bernstein, Marie Forleo, and Danielle LaPorte.
